Wales – The Lady Falls

Sgwd Gwladys, The Lady Falls in beginning March after a dry February. When it is full of water the whole ledge has water running over it

Jennifer and I spent a couple of days in beginning March near Brecon Beacons. The views were typical of Wales before the green of spring had broken out. Although we had sunshine, it was misty and everything further away was a little bit obscured by the mist.

From these misty and hilly landscapes we turned further south to Waterfall Country and hiked to Sgwd Gwladys, The Lady Falls. It had been and continued all spring to be very dry, both in Wales and England. So the impressive waterfall had turned into a cute little stream. I will have to come back and revisit both this fall and others in this part of Wales.

On the way up to the fall, I captured a couple of photos of the river Pyrdin, Afon Pyrdin, setting up my tripod on stones that normally would be covered by the river.

Notice the stones on which I stand taking the photo. They would normally be covered by the river and havd the look that stones get after being polished by running water for hundreds of years, maybe thousands.
