Water-Break-Its-Neck

What an intriguing name for a waterfall. When I went across the border into Wales to photograph the church and the yew tree in my previous post, I felt I had to check out a small waterfall with such a funny name. A short walk led me into a gully, where the waterfall was at the end. It had been a dry spring and the waterfall itself was tiny, but the setting was beautiful. The moss covering the sides of the ravine, partially in shadow, partially lit by the sun rays, and with the stream of water “breaking its neck’ over the side of the cliff made it very attractive. You can see that the bottom of the ravine would normally be covered by water from the fall, but now it was nearly dry.

The bottom of the ravine that normally would be full of water was now nearly dry, but at least it made it an easy approach
