IMTI

A house in Imti

From Muscat we went on an adventure into the mountains first driving alongside the mountainous region of Jebel Akhdar and then driving up on the mountain plateau, where we stayed in quite a luxurious hotel. Our road took us along the most significant trading route in Oman, between the inland capital of Niswa and Muscat on the coast

Our first short stop was Imti, a small and very attractive town with gardens and palm tree plantations fed by water led in canals (falajs) from the mountains down to the valleys.

A street in Imti with the mountains of Jebel Akhdar in the background. We are at an altitude of around 600 metres and Jebel Akhdar is around 2,000 metres with the highest mountain shooting up more than 3,000 metres
