JEBEL AKHDAR HIKE

The mountain plateau of Jebel Akhdar is criss-crossed by canyons or wadis. Here is Jennifer on top of a viewpoint looking down at a wadi around 1,000 metres below us straight down. She is afraid of heights, so how she dared to sit here is beyond my comprehension!

Several wadis cut across the Jebel Akhdar mountain plateau. A guide accompanied Jennifer and I on a walk (and climb) up to the very top of the plateau overlooking the canyon below. Both the walk and reaching the final viewpoint offered stunning views of the landscape.

We left our car beside the road and commenced our hike.
Our walk followed a dried out river bed
Waling along the river bed
While I ventured out from our path for photographs, Jennifer relaxed reading a book that she had brought in her backpack
As we progressed the path got steeper but we had good foot hold all along our climb
