Eardisland in spring

Eardisland is the little village (500 inhabitants, two pubs and a church) where our family lives. It is in Herefordshire, on the border to Wales. I published some winter photos with frost in February 2025 and now I have decided to show some spring photos from the village. I will interrupt the series of posts about Portugal, that I have presently publishing for some spring photos from around here, but more Portugal photos are soon coming again. The images are captured on the 20 and 23 of April this year.

River Arrow runs through Eardisland and a little canal was led off the river to feed a couple of mills. Both the river and the canal crosses Eardisland and that together with all the black and white houses makes the village so beautiful.

The left image shows the end of the dovecote, now converted to the village shop. And in the right image, Helen, one of the persons manning the shop on a voluntary basis, is at the door. The waterway is the canal running next to the river.

The little village has two pubs. This is one of them, The Cross Inn

And the river Arrow running beside the canal with its bridge. An American tank, crossing the river during the Second World War, destroyed the parapet, which has to be rebuilt, but the bridge is otherwise from 1800.

And the last image is from our pond at Lynch Court. The flowering tree is a crab apple
