Jennifer and I met in London in 2003. When we went with the Beaumont Group (that supports the National Gallery) to Paris in the spring of 2005 I proposed and we tied the knot near Gothenburg in Sweden on the third of August that year.

Our yacht, Adèle, was launched earlier in 2005 and we had planned the Christening of her to the following day, the 4th of Aug and thereafter we would set sail on a two year “honeymoon” sailing around the world.

The wedding itself took place at Råda Church just outside Gothenburg and we had a dinner for a few friends afterwards at Råda Säteri (“Säteri” can roughly be translated to “Manor House”).

Jennifer stayed with friends in Gothenburg before the wedding, while I was aboard Adèle in Marstrand together with a few male friends, foremost Magnus, my son, and Father Eric and Demetrio Perez, one of our Filipino scholars.
