I had a meeting with the German group Merck on my birthday – the 18th of August. We decided that all the family should travel out and after the meetings in Darmstadt, we continued to Heidelberg to celebrate and have a nice family weekend.
Heidelberg is a famous university city and very well preserved from medieval times. It is based at the river Neckar and behind the city is the mountain, Königsstuhl (The King’s Chair) with the Heidelberg castle clinging to the mountain.
We spent a couple of days walking around the city and enjoying its food and atmosphere and the views from the top of the mountains surrounding Heidelberg.
