Eric’s Birthday Party

We had our traditional Garden Party and also Eric’s Birthday Party at Knightstone last Sunday (3rd of July). As always (nearly) we were very lucky with the weather. It drizzled a little up to 20 minutes before the party started at midday, but as you can see from the pictures we had blue skies and lots of sunshine from start to finish. I think we bet the record and were more than 150 people spread around the gardens and in the park and meadow, but because our gardens are quite spread out, it nether felt like we were cramped.

Robin from the Rusty Pig provided a BBQ lunch in the courtyard and we had an ice-cream van (or bicycle) that offered ice cream between the different activities. The rose garden got equipped with an inflatable assault course, we had clay pigeon shooting with laser guns in the park and up in the meadow the young boys and girls could chase each other with laser guns as well (but I never saw any girls – only lots of boys!). The young ones could try their cooking skills in the wood fired pizza oven after they had prepared their own pizza and we had volley-ball, badminton and table tennis.

I was exhausted just by photographing the event. Eric got more presents than he could open in the following week and Mikee had several of her classmates from Maynard joining with their parents and Eric had of course many of his friends from St John. And Camilla, Eric’s Godmother, came down from London and so did Ludvig and Ulrika, newly married and back from Cyprus, and Magnus and Claudia. They all stayed the whole weekend and entertained Mikee and Eric by participating in lots of games.

  1. It looks like a great party; we are sorry not to have been there. Sorry also to have missed seeing Camilla.

    Love to all
