Homebound

We sailed from South Georgia to Rio. Then we did a local cruise in Brazil before going north along the coast of South America to the Caribbean. There we said good-bye to Adele and left her in Antigua.

We arrived very timely in Rio in carnival time.

We left Rio to see a little bit of the inland. This is the city of Ouro Preto, black gold. It is filled with baroque art and colonial houses.

We sailed northeast to Buzios to pcik up more guests.

Paraty harbour. We had dinner at a tiny restaurant just on the other side of the quay.

The church of Paraty has been a landmark for centuries. The streets were built so that they are covered at high water, flushing rubbish and debris out to sea with the receding tide. The system was designed long before Paraty had a modern sewer system and it is still cleaning the streets today.

St Kitts in the Caribbean was the scene of our last beach barbeque wiith Adele, her Captain and crew.

Adele sails away to new adventures under a new owner.

She had been our home and our friend fortwo wondrous years.
