- We sailed from South Georgia to Rio. Then we did a local cruise in Brazil before going north along the coast of South America to the Caribbean. There we said good-bye to Adele and left her in Antigua.

- We left Rio to see a little bit of the inland. This is the city of Ouro Preto, black gold. It is filled with baroque art and colonial houses.

- Paraty harbour. We had dinner at a tiny restaurant just on the other side of the quay.
- The church of Paraty has been a landmark for centuries. The streets were built so that they are covered at high water, flushing rubbish and debris out to sea with the receding tide. The system was designed long before Paraty had a modern sewer system and it is still cleaning the streets today.
