I have posted a number of posts about the family and activities near our home, but now I turn back to our adventures in Oman two and a half years ago. My previous post from Oman was a short visit to the town of Imti.
After Imti our next stop was Nizwa, the most important town and for nearly a thousand years the capital of the interior of Oman. It was also the seat of the religious leaders of Oman, the Imams.
We went to Nizwa to see the souk, and to partake in the Friday market, an animal market, where in an arena the owners of different cattle led their animals around and the bidders offered their prices. Apart from cattle also goats were sold on that market. Sometimes an aggressive young bull could break away from his owner and wreak havoc among all the on-lookers.
