Eric reaps the awards

Eric has had an amazing year at St John’s and matured a lot. He has also worked hard and he has been supported by a very good school and a mother that never gives in.

Today was Speech Day, the last Saturday before the term ends and time for the celebration of a year’s effort. Eric scored highly and came to the stage three times to collect prizes. The first was for putting up the best effort in his class (year 2). Then he was called back to receive this year’s  prize in Spanish for the Junior School.

But the most amazing was that he also won the cup for collecting the most individual stars among any student in the school. Those stars can be given for anything from academic and sports achievements to being a good citizen. I found it difficult to focus as I had a mist in front of my eye when I took the photos.

After the formalities were over the fun part of the day started with lunch and then games and sports for everyone. Jennifer stayed on, but I had to leave because I should pick up Mikee from one sleep-over party and immediately bring her to the next party. After having partied from Friday to Sunday in one go she was as exhausted as Eric was happy and Jennifer and I were amazed by our children.

    1. Not so much of a baby any longer. And Jennifer is doing a great job with his school work. She deserves a reward as well.
