Jennifer has been pulling outage reeds in the pond for five days. But after that a lot of reeds and their roots were floating around the pond, and she got the help of Sandy and Mikee to collect it from the pond and taking it away. The used our two inflatable paddle boards. The last time we used them were on the beaches in Devon, but they came in handy in our little pond too.
Sandy is the adventurous and industrious son of our neighbours, David and Rowena. Sandy also brought the family quad bike with a trailer to get the reeds from our lawns, and he has his own ride-on lawn mower that he brings to cut our lawns. Later in the afternoon he fell into the pond, and had to swim and wade ashore, but came back immediately to continue his efforts to help us. Unfortunately, I had left with my camera at that time and wasn’t able to immortalise his swim!
