Susanne and Dave , with their children Emily and Elliot visited us over Easter and it gave Emily the confidence to say that she wanted to come back to us alone during the summer. Jennifer and I picked her up a day in late July and Dave and Susanne and Elliot will pick her up a week later and return to Dorset where they live (3 1/2 hours from our place in Herefordshire). This post shows some photos from Emily’s first day with us.
Emily and I started the day by driving to Moor Court nearby to pick up some strawberries. Moor Court grows strawberries, cherries, raspberries and other goodies. They have a couple of dogs that compete with the cars about the best spots on the front court.

Later in the morning we went to Croft Castle, 20 minutes north of us. We had a walk in the garden and saw the interior of the castle. The ice cream was delicious, but the lunch was mediocre., but Emily loved her ice cream and didn’t complain about the lunch!

In the evening Eric, Emily, Jennifer and I went to see a sunflower field near Bodenham. Mikee was working. I had been photographing the field before, but wanted to capture it at sunset to get the Sundays shining through the sunflower petals and contrast that to images from other times of the day. I will post a separate post about the sunflower field but have to include two pictures from the evening here. While I was capturing the flower field, Eric, Emily and Jennifer had dinner at a pub, conviently situated next to the field,
