Pil Tor

At Top Tor with Pil Tor in the. background

Pil Tor is just like Top Tor and Rippon Tor one of a group of Tors on Eastern Dartmoor that is easy to get to and provides wonderful walks and views all around. The image above was captured at Top Tor nearby looking south and Pil Tor can just be seen in the background. It cannot be more than a 10 minute walk between the two. The other images are from Pil Tor itself looking in different directions. They are captured in late August, when the heather had just come in bloom.

Pil Tor towards the southeast
Pil Tor consists of two large outcrops with a fairly flat moorland in between. This is the northern outcrop
