Every year the judges for the World Superyacht Awards travel to see the around 60 yachts that compete for the prestigious prizes as the best sailing or motor yachts among those above 100 foot length. We have a judges meeting in February or March and then the Awards Ceremony takes place in May.
In year 2017 the Ceremony took place in Florence. That gave us a chance to visit some good restaurants both in Florence and its surroundings in Tuscany. The gala dinner itself was in the famous Palazzo Vecchio built in the 13th century. (See also the Family album https://www.osterlund.co.uk/tuscany-2016/)
In 2017 I was the chairman of the judges, so had to arrive a little bit earlier, but Jennifer was well looked after by her “little gentleman”, who looked impeccable in his dinner jacket. Mikee had unfortunately to be at home studying for exams later in May.
