After Emily had been with us a week, Susanne, Dave and Elliot came to pick her up and they stayed on for another couple of days. One of those days we went to Ralph Court Gardens to visit their lovely and fun theme gardens. And in the middle of those gardens someone had mistakenly let the dinosaurs out. But they were very friendly, and with Emily and Elliot holding my hands I felt protected.
We were quite impressed by the arrangements. I normally like to write something about the things I see, but I have to admit I know nothing of dinosaurs. While we walked around I noticed that the whole family, from Dave and Susanne to Emily and Elliot, knew by heart every single dinosaur that we met and their habitats and eating habits. I was mainly worried that they should have me for lunch, but this time I was saved.
Outside the theme park we could relax a little. The image here is from a mockup of Paddington Station.
At the end of the 19th Century Monet lived in his house at Giverny (halfway between Paris and the Normandy coast). He had a Japanese footbridge in his water garden and painted it around 45 times in different light and seasons. His artwork is so iconic that Ralph Court Gardens built a replica of the water garden and the foot bridge and created a viewing platform with a picture frame and an opening in the frame, from which we could observe the foot bridge. And of course I had to photograph Emily on the foot bridge.
After the Gardens we went back home and the kids relaxed in our swing and climbed the magnolia tree.
